Winnow was founded by Prue Thompson and Carol Key - two colleagues-turned-friends with a shared appreciation of honest conversation, insightful questions and impactful solutions. We love helping businesses tell their stories in a way that resonates with clients, shareholders and employees. There's no one-size-fits-all approach with Winnow. We will take the time to truly understand your business, your values, your culture - your 'why' as well as your what and how. We're jargon-free, straight-talking, results-focused (and, apparently, hyphen-loving!) and we are looking forward to working with you.

Meet the Winnow team

Prue Thompson

Prue is a native Australian but has lived and worked ouside of her homeland for more years than she cares to count! Her passion lead her to a 20 year career in the sport and entertainment industry travelling the world working on major events like the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Formula 1 and Rugby. Prue's most recent role was the Head of Marketing and Brand for a global financial services institution, a dramatic career change that demanded a growth mindset and lots of hard work. It paid off and Prue discovered that it's never too late to try something new.

Prue spends time at her Cotswolds cottage whenever she can, enjoying the outdoors and visiting the local pub which is literally metres from her front door. The newest addition to Prue's family is her hilarious dog-like cat called Wombat who turns the most fanatical dog lovers to cat admirers through just one look!

Carol Key

Carol has almost 25 years' experience in marketing and communications roles. Most recently she was Head of Communications for a global financial services firm, leading teams and all aspects of corporate communications for businesses in the UK, Channel Islands, Canada, Asia and Hong Kong. During her varied career, Carol has managed communications for large-scale change programmes, M&A activity, reputational issues and crises, corporate rebrands, financial reporting, employee engagement activity, diversity and inclusion initiatives and pretty much anything else you can think of.

Carol lives in Hertfordshire and is no longer allowed to follow any animal rescue charities on social media, having recently adopted two rescue dogs in the space of four months, because the cat and the teenager were apparently not demanding enough!
